Since entering the profession in 2000, Cathy Konner has placed education at the center of how she advises. She believes the physicians, dentists, and families she works with should be able to explain not only what they are doing with their finances, but why. For her, success is measured less by portfolio performance than by whether clients feel genuinely informed and confident in the decisions before them.
Her path to financial services followed more than a decade in her family's automobile business, a chapter that allowed her to raise three children while running a company on her own terms. When that business closed, she sought work that offered the same independence along with the opportunity to build something lasting, and she found it in advising individuals and families. The most defining moment of her career arrived as a phone call from a grieving husband whose wife had recently passed, asking whether the life insurance would be paid. Cathy was able to tell him that his children would not lose their home or the life they knew, and in the years since, that planning has allowed the family to move forward on solid footing. The call remains the clearest expression of why she does this work.
Many of Cathy's client relationships now span more than two decades. Early on, she made a promise to guide clients from residency through retirement, and today she has the privilege of seeing that promise realized as many reach the milestone themselves. Her daughter, Samantha, has since joined Proviser Financial and taken on a growing leadership role in its continued development. Born in Japan and raised between Seattle and San Francisco, Cathy now lives in Ramsey, New Jersey. A former ski patroller who still skis regularly with her grandchildren, she has supported Table to Table and the Make-A-Wish Foundation for over twenty years.
